Sony has revealed that it has sold more than one million PlayStation 4 gaming console in North America in just 24 hours. Sony aims to sell over 3 million PlayStation 4 console during the year-end festive season.
Sony has launched its PS4 on November 15, whereas Microsoft will launch Xbox One console on Friday i.e. Nov 22. Sony’s decision to launch its flagship PS4 ahead of Microsoft Corp’s Xbox One console proved a great leap for the Japanese giant.
Andrew House, head of Sony Computer Entertainment, the unit of Sony that oversees PlayStation said, “Sales remain very strong in North America.”
“We expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29,” he added.
Sony Corp had earlier announced that PlayStation 4 console had received more than 1 million pre-orders.
While the Sony PlayStation 4 is available at $399 in the US, Microsoft Corp has priced its much-awaited gaming console – Xbox One at $499.
