Along with the S7 Samsung also launched the S7 edge at a recently concluded MWC, the S7 edge too is to be launched in India soon.
S7 edge houses a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560 X 1440) display which is the sweet spot between last year’s S6 edge’s 5.1 inch and S6 edge plus’s 5.7 inch display. Under the hood like the S7 is a snapdragon 820 or an Exynos 8890 paired with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and either 32 or 64 GB memory options which thankfully can be expanded via the help of a micro SD card.
For the shutterbugs the S7 edge too houses the same camera setup as seen on the S7 being a 12 MP f/1.7 rear camera module while the front selfie camera clocks in at a decent 5 MP sensor. There is OIS as well as PDAF to ensure better photos; Samsung has opted for a hybrid slot which gives user the option of either using 2 sim cards or a sim card along with a memory card.
The device is powered by a 3,600mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support, and is also IP68 certification, which makes it resistant to water and dust. On the software front like the S7 it too runs android marshmallow wrapped under Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI. Like the S7 the S7 edge too has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.
