Obi Mobiles which is backed by former Apple CEO John Scully has transformed itself into a new brand called the Obi Worldphone a while back. Obi worldphone has a strong emphasis on the design and the interactive user interface.
As of the specifications go for the SF1, there is a 5 inch Full HD (1080p) Display protected by corning’s gorilla glass 4 manufactured by JDI which is raised from the body frame which gives it a floating like feel. Under the hood a Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 runs the show which is put coupled with 2 GB of RAM for the 16 GB version and 3 GB of RAM for the 32 GB version.
For the shutterbugs the SF1 houses a 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and LED flash. On the front there is a 5 MP Selfie camera with LED flash. The phone is designed by San Francisco-based product studio Ammunition. The body is mainly made of fiber glass and has metal accents.
The phone runs Android lollipop 5.0.2 with Obi’s own Lifespeed UI, there is a Hybrid Slot to be used as either 2 sim cards or 1 sim card and 1 memory card. The memory can be expanded upto 64 GB. On the connectivity front the phone offers the usual with 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.
Among the USP of the phone apart from its emphasis on design and usability is Dolby Audio embedded into the phone. There is a 3,000 mAh battery to power the device.
The Obi Worldphone SF1 will be available in Black and is priced at Rs. 11,999 for 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version, and Rs. 13,999 for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version.
The phone will be available for purchase starting December 7 and will be exclusively available from Gadgets360.
