Next Version of Android to be called Kit Kat

Believe it or not Android’s next version will be called ‘Kit Kat’.

Android chief Sundar Pichai confirmed the news on Tuesday on Twitter and Google Plus that the next version of the operating system, Android 4.4 will be named – Kit Kat.

Since Google has been working with Nestle and Hershey, the makers of the chocolatey and crunchy candy bar it is obvious for them to come up names after desert. Google has a history of naming each of its Android versions after desserts, starting with Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and now Kit Kat.

Sundar Pichai also announced that Google has launched a website about Kit Kat software to “make an amazing Android experience available for everyone.”
