Research In Motion India has launched the latest smartphone model BlackBerry Porsche P’9981in India.
Priced at Rs. 1.39 lakh, Porsche P’9981 is BlackBerry’s new smartphone developed in association with Porsche Design. It was launched globally in 2011 October.
The struggling Canadian company RIM is looking to revive their business and take on the global competitors like Samsung, Nokia and Apple.
In an interview with PTI, Sunil Dutt, MD, RIM India said, “We will not be selling this through the traditional channels. The discerning customers can order their phones to begin with and later on, we will have select outlets like luxe watch and accessories showroom located on the high streets.”
Currently BlackBerry has 15% share in the smartphone market in India.
