All ropes of Salman Khan`s future life and career are in the hands of the Mumbai Sessions Court as they are to give the verdict tomorrow which will decide Khan`s jail period. The court will finally say if the actor is guilty of crashing a SUV upon 5 homeless men who were sleeping outside bakery in Bandra West. If Khan loses it to court, he will get locked up in jail for around 10 years. It is really a long period and one could easily sense that his career is in great jeopardy.
He is currently involved in numerous Bollywood projects which probably stretch up to 2017 and a whopping amount of approximately 200 crores is at stake. He is shooting for two films right now, which are Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with Sonam Kapoor and Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Kareena Kapoor. Most of his earlier films had achieved a position in 200 crore club or atleast earned a collection of 100 crores. So, many believe that his blockbuster releases rake in the amount which crosses their investment expenses. SO, when this is the scenario, it is really going to be interesting to see the twist that tomorrow`s verdict will give to Salman`s career and his future projects.
The Arguments presented by his lawyers in the court said that it was Khan`s drivers who was driving and not he actually; this statement tried to prove Salman innocent but was not satisfying to a great extent. Hence, tomorrow`s day is finalized by the Mumbai Sessions court to give out their verdict under IPC Section 304 (II) — culpable homicide not amounting to murder which attracts a 10-year jail sentence.
Prince Vij told Spectralhues, “Time by time, Indian judiciary has proved that in India law is same for both, celebrity and a common man. And I hope the same will happen in Salman Khan’s Hit-and Run case too. This case has had some twists and turns in all these years. We have heard so many stupid statements of Salman Khan in these year. Like “I was not drunk and I was not driving, my driver was driving, I was not drunk, I had only water in beer bar”. And we all know that exactly 12 years ago Salman Khan’s SUV killed one injured 3 people on footpath. Killing someone is the most heist crime, and I am sure our judiciary will set an example for the society that law is sane for everybody. There is no VIP benefit in the law and order, with giving verdict against Salman Khan. If Salman Khan has done the crime then he definitely should be behind the bars.”
Given the fact that he has a huge fan base, his supporters have truly turned out to be of great help. Their wishes have not let him go behind the bars till date, but tomorrow is the day which will take victims` justice too into consideration. Let us see which side stands out to be strong and balance tilts in whose favor. Here are some bytes which I managed to collect from some of his fans wherein I asked them what are their overall opinions about Salman and tomorrow`s verdict:
WHAT FANS SAY:
- I think that he will get punished. But, being his fan, I personally don`t wish that he should go behind the bars. From one point of view I think that he has paid back and from another perspective I think he has done a crime so he deserves punishment. Over the years he has changed a lot. But this time I don`t think court would give him any chance as he has killed one and injured four. If it happens, his fans will get upset. Also his movies are round the corner. The schedule of his future movies like No entry mai entry, Shuddhi and Sultan depends on the judgment of the court. – Yadnya Jadhav
- If he is innocent he obviously won`t get punished. And as his driver has accepted that he was the person who was driving so I guess Salman is innocent. And I don`t think it will much affext his career. As he is a celebrity and also runs a famous, widespread charity named Being Human. – Bhagyashree Ingale
- Salman is a very good guy. He always donates money to needy people and cancer patients. He always carries appositive attitude. Even though he is a big star he has down to earth nature. I obviously don`t think that he deserves the punishment. If Bhai is not there, this hindi film industry is not there. If he gets jailed his career will no more exist. There are millions of his fans out there. Without him, it is impossible to imagine film industry. He should not at all be jailed. – Arya Bhanage
- He has done a crime but he is as such a good human being. So 10 years is too long a period. I think punishment should surely be given but not this long. I seriously think that his life will get destroyed if 10 years is the period! – Shreya Satpathy
