Its Sharapova vs Serena in the French Open final at Roland Garros on Saturday!
Defending champion Maria Sharapova reached the French Open final beating Victoria Azarenka, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 and set a date with world number one Serena Williams.
Williams reached her first French Open final since 2002 after crashing Sara Errani 6-0, 6-1 in just 46 minutes.
Prior to this final Sharapova had poor record against Serena only 2 times she won in their 15 face-off.
“I really had to play to the end today (in the semi-final) and I am extremely happy to be back in the final,” Sharapova said.
“Obviously whatever I did in the past hasn’t worked. So I’ll have to try to do something different and hopefully it will,” Sharapova added.
“I’m very happy to be back in the French Open final 11 years later. I’m still here 11 years later. It’s so wonderful for me,” said 15 time Grand Slam champion Williams.
“Against Maria, I will have to prepare slightly differently. She’s a great player. But it’s magnificent to be back in the final after 11 years,” add Serena.
