Pakistan thrash India by 85 run in the second ODI at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on Thursday and take 2-0 lead in the three-match series. After winning the series Pakistan made Ferozshah Kotla match in Delhi on Sunday insignificant.
No wonder, why Pakistanis love Eden Gardens so much, this is the fourth time in a row for them to register win here.
Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan got off a flying start with opener Nasir Jamshed (106) again scored century. Mohammed Hafeez made sparkling 76 off 74 balls. That time Pakistan was looking good to score 300 plus, but to keep their tradition of batting collapsing, they were soon bowled out before finishing the quota of 50 over. At one time they were 141 without losing a wicket but ended up scoring 250 all out. Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja bowled beautifully and took three wickets each.
Chasing a target of 251, India were all out for 165 in 48 overs. Pakistani bowlers showed discipline performance, especially Mohammad Irfan and Junaid. Mahendra Singh Dhoni made another half century and remaining unbeaten on 54. But his effort went in vain as other top senior players fail to impress again. Gautam Gambhir (11), Virat Kohli (6) Virender Sehwag (31) Yuvraj Singh (9) and Suresh Raina (18) fail continuously. We were missing one Mr. Tendulkar.
It is desperate time for Team India to see some overall changes. Hopeless board needs to stop politics and concentrate on the team. The coach is ineffective, the fitness is a shame and every department needs morale boost.
Are you listening Mr. N. Srinivasan?
