World number two Novak Djokovic beat top seed Rafael Nadal to win Italian Open on Sunday. This was his third Italian open title.
Djokovic beat Nadal 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 and dedicated the title to flood-hit Serbia.
“This heart on the court is for you,” Djokovic told the fans after the victory. “It’s also a special dedication to my country, which is suffering a lot right now. My heart is with them.”
Djokovic has also registered four consecutive win against Nadal including in the Monte Carlo and Barcelona open.
Djokovic emerges as hot favourite this time at Roland Garros by beatingen eight-time French Open champion Nadal in clay court back to back.
Hugely disappointed Nadal said, “It was a difficult week. Too many hours on the court.”
