Captain of Pune Warriors, Sourav Ganguly is very upset over match officials’ decision to report Marlon Samuels for suspect bowling action.
Umpires trio Aleem Dar, Bruce Oxenford and Vineet Kulkarni, who were in-charge of the Pune Warriors’ match against Chennai Super Kings on April 14, have raised doubt over Samuels’ bowling action by stating that the West Indian bowler has bowled differently in this particular game.
Although Samuels can continue bowling for now, however he will be disqualified from bowling in IPL 5 if reported once again.
Sourav raised his concern and did not hide that he is unhappy over this ‘unfair’ decision. Prior to Pune’s next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore Saurav told reporters, “I don’t know what different did Marlon bowl in the fourth game. He has been bowling for West Indies for the last three years and bowled in three games of this IPL. He has not been warned. I don’t know what different did he bowl in the fourth game to get the warning.” “Whoever has taken the decision should be very, very careful as there are few worse actions around this IPL. The problem is they have not been able to hit Marlon into the stands,” Dada added.
