Nico Hulkenberg who raced for team Sauber in the recently finished F1 Championship is set to change colour in the next year. The German driver is set to make a come back into his former team Force India who made him their first-choice driver. Hulkenberg who began his career in F1 in team Williams made his appearance in the Force India driver’s seat in 2011 and 2012.
A happy Nico Hulkenberg was recorded saying, “I am happy to come back to Sahara Force India. The team is aiming high for the next year and I believe the experience I have gained over the years will help us achieve those goals. I genuinely believe we can have a competitive package in 2014.” He added, “I’ve heard a lot of positive things about the Mercedes engine as well, so I think there is a lot to be excited about for next year. I know this team and I can see their determination. It’s a great bunch of people and we all share the same hunger for success.”
Team Force India in their press release remarked, “Sahara Force India is delighted to confirm that Nico Hulkenberg will return to Sahara Force India in 2014 after agreeing to a multi-year deal. The 26-year old German is no stranger to Sahara Force India having spent 2011 and 2012 seasons with the team. The already strong working relationship will ensure a smooth transition as the team moves into the new era of Formula One.”
Besides Nico Hulkenberg, two drivers who are in the Sahara Force India team are Adrian Sutil and Paul Di Resta. Now with the arrival of Nico, Sergio Perez who served as the reserved driver for the team in the recently finished championship is set to be released. With the signing of Nico, along with promising drivers like Sutil and Di Resta, Force India will surely face the problem of selecting their drivers for performing in the races. But this is a kind of a problem that the team will surely want to have.
