Bollywood actress Nupur Mehta, who acted in Sunny Deol starrer ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’, found herself in the middle of worst allegation crisis in Indian cricket. Yesterday London daily “The Sunday Times” claimed that 2011 world cup cricket semifinal between arch rival India and Pakistan at Mohali was fixed and Nupur played a great role in it. The paper alleged that Nupur was used to tempt Pakistani players to under-perform.
Today the actress came out loud and denied all the allegations saying ‘baseless’. Nupur said, “I have been accused of something that I have not done. All I would say is I am not guilty of any such thing.”
A Delhi-based Indian bookie claimed to the reporter of the Sunday Times on a sting operation that 2011 world cup match was fixed and the match fixing is continuing in the international cricket as well as in the domestic county matches.
The newspaper even published a blur image of the actress and Nupur threatened to sue them. “The picture that they have used was taken during my film, ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’. I intend to take action against them,” said Nupur.
