Mocking and taunting made it a spicy Sunday in Bihar as Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Gaya, Bihar, calling JDU ‘Janata ka Daman aur Utpidan’ and RJD ‘Rojana Jungle Raj Ka Dar’. A war of words struck on the Bimaru tag, with Prime Minister labeling the newly formed alliance as “politically oppurtunistic” and asserting that Jungle Raj part -2 would ruin everything if it returns.

Retorting, Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar called BJP as ‘Badka Jhutha Party’ and ‘Bharatiya Jhumla Party’.

Kumar told a Press Conference in Bihar, hours after Prime Minister’s speech in Gaya, “If PM brings down the standard of discourse by describing our party as Janata Ka Daman aur Utpiran and runs down Bihar and its people, then I am constrained to say that the BJP means Badka Jhutha Party,” while adding, “I cannot think of any other name for the BJP other than it being a Badka Jhutha Party (Big Liars Party) at this stage….I may think about some other name depending on the PM’s barb at us.”

In Gaya, the Prime Minister promised to remove the tag Bimaru from the state within five years if the BJP-led NDA government makes its way back to the power.

“If you want Bihar to be out of the category of BIMARU states, hand over the reins to a BJP government….an NDA government which has capable leadership of people like Jitan Ram Manjhi, Ram Vilas Paswan, Upendra Kushwaha and Sushil Kumar Modi,” he said.

“Give us five years, we will ensure that Bihar gets out of the ‘BIMARU’ category,” Prime Minister added, stating states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh have got rid of the tag and developed similar to the BJP ruled states Haryana and Gujarat.

A fuming Nitish Kumar said, “He said Bihar is a BIMARU state. Bihar’s growth rate, performance on social indices like education and health care present a picture which does not show it is a laggard state.
He should have his facts right. Nobody will like to make a joke of himself by calling Bihar a BIMARU state.”
