A group of women today gathered outside Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s house in Lucknow and whistle in protest of his comment on Women’s Reservation Bill.
However this incident raised several eyebrows as the remark Singh made was way back in 2010 when he said if the Women’s Reservation Bill is passed, women will attract catcalls and whistles in the parliament.
“I don’t like to say this, but they would be the women at whom youths would whistle,” Mulayam had said in 2010.
“Once the bill comes into force, not a single male would be elected to the Lok Sabha after 10 years as elected women would not leave their seats, nor the political parties would be in a position to replace them,” he added.
