The Congress today announced its annual AICC meeting in Delhi on January 17 ahead of Lok Sabha Polls. The AICC will discuss the recent poll debacles and chalk out plans for dealing charismatic BJP leader and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
“The meeting is being held in Delhi on January 17,” Congress General Secretary Janadan Dwivedi told reporters.
The AICC is expected to take a call on announcing its Prime Ministerial candidate. The demand for announcing Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s name as its PM nominee is growing since the poor poll performance in the recently concluded assembly polls in the four states in which Congress was shown door by the voters.
All eyes now at Sonia Gandhi who earlier said that party will announce its Prime Ministerial candidate at an opportune time.
Last AICC meet saw Rahul’s elevation as the Vice President of the party in Jaipur last year, will he be the Prime Ministerial candidate this time? Will Congress take a risk to make it a Rahul Gandhi vs Narendra Modi affair for next year’s poll? Need to wait till 17th January.
