Lok Sabha has been adjourned till noon today as the anti-Telengana protests have been intensified in the parliament. Although government has taken up unprecedented measures in Parliament ahead of tabling the controversial Telangana bill today, but seeing the protest in the both houses, it is not clear whether government can able to table the bill at all.
Several Seemandhra MPs have threatened to go extreme if government tries to table the bill in the Lok Sabha. Fire extinguishers and blankets are installed after a Congress MP allegedly threatened to set himself a fire in protest of the Bill.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has met top Congress leaders as well as senior ministers to discuss the strategy over tabling of the bill to create Telengana state. But sources are telling that government is divided over the timing of tabling it.
After government’s announcement that they are going ahead with the Telangana Bill and will table it in the Lok Sabha at 12 noon, a bandh has been declared in coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema against the government’s decision.
