Expressing its displeasure over the yesterday’s meet between former BJP President Nitin Gadkari and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray, the Shiv Sena said any talks with the MNS will affect the BJP-Sena alliance and NDA does not need MNS.
“All doors are now closed for the MNS, there is no need for any negotiation with Raj Thackeray’s party, we do not require them in the NDA.” Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut told reporters adding, “If a senior leader from BJP supports Raj Thackeray or Sharad Pawar, it can affect our grand alliance.”
Raut said Shiv Sena-BJP combine will defeat Congress and NCP in Maharashtra in the coming Lok Sabha polls.
“Marathi voters will always remain loyal to the Shiv Sena and no once can dare to snatch their support to us. We will win 40 seats.”
Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray hits out at BJP by saying there was a communication gap within the BJP.
“There is a communication gap within the BJP. Those within the BJP who are praising Congress-NCP leaders are responsible for creating a communication gap. It is the internal matter of the BJP but the Mahayuti is determined to unseat the Congress-NCP government,” Uddhav said.
Meanwhile Gadkari tried to downplay his meeting with Raj Thackeray.
“We want to ensure that the Congress-NCP don’t benefit from a split in the anti-Congress vote. If the MNS abstains it will help the Shiv Sena candidates. Don’t think the Sena is upset,” Gadkari said after his meeting with Raj Thackeray.
“I discussed with the MNS chief the ways to get rid of the Congress government. There is no reason for Uddhav Thackeray to be annoyed over my meeting Raj…I meet everybody including Congress people,” Gadkari told reporters.
