Union Agriculture Minister and NCP leader Sharad Pawar said he is ready to quit politics. In an interview with one of the leading television channel , the minister said that he will not contest the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections and is ready retire from active political field.
Sharad Pawar who has never lost a single election, thinks this is high time for him to go and make way for the younger lot to take over. (Is he indicating his children?)
“I don’t want to contest the next Lok Sabha elections. This year I complete 45 years – without single day’s break – in politics. I have been working from 1967 till today and continuously I’m getting elected. It’s my responsibility to encourage younger generation,” Power said.
It is surprising to hear from an Indian politician as we all very well know that these creatures do not retire until ‘god invites them’…there is no ‘retirement age’ for political class. However if Mr. Power wants to show a new route, then we welcome this move. May god bless him so that he can remember his only logical wish and do not change his ‘statement’ Again!!!
