NCP leader and Union Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar lashed out at Congress soon after people rejected the party suffers huge loss in all four major states in the recently concluded assembly polls.
In his blog post, Pawar said that Congress failed to get votes in the assembly polls due to the lack of ‘strong and decisive leader’. He said people don’t like weak leaders.
“The defeat in four states has hit Congress hard. Not only the Congress but everyone of us will have to think seriously about it. The new generation has played pivotal role in this defeat and their anger has resulted in this voting,” Pawar said.
“This shows that the ruler need to be strong and decision maker. Not only that, the ruler should able to implement the decisions taken. People don’t like weak rulers. If the rulers fail to implement the decisions taken in public interest, then other power starts growing..this is the lesson we should learn from this defeat,” he added.
“Indira Gandhi was a strong leader. She used to take decisions and had the capacity to implement them, So during her time such ‘jholawallahs’ didn’t grow,” he further said.
