As the world celebrates Women’s Day, several women, old and yound, in Odisha’s Govindpur and Dhinkia villages were beaten severely by police as they continue their protest against land acquisition for the Posco steel plant.
But the lathicharge could not able to dumpen their spirit. The under-previleged village women have even threatened to strip themselves if the police force is not withdrawn from the spot immediately.
On Thursday, three anti-Posco protesters were killed in a bomb attack.
The Odisha government had already acquired nearly 2,000 acres and looking forward to acquire another 700 acres for South Korean company Posco which is going to build up a 12-million-tonne-per-annum steel plant in Paradip in Odisha.
