Uncle vs niece fighting in the election is not so uncommon in Indian politics and this time former RJD leader and Lalu Prasad’s brother Ram Kripal Yadav who is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in BJP’s ticket, is set to take on RJD chief’s daughter Misa Bharti from Pataliputra constituency.
Ram Kripal has joined the BJP last week after Lalu Prasad Yadav refused to give him a ticket from Pataliputra and gave ticket to his daughter Misa Bharti.
Ram Kripal Yadav has said that he is confident to bear Misa in the polls.
“I have all the chances of winning. I have nursed this seat for the last two decades and enjoy support across sections, be it upper castes, backward classes or Muslims,” Yadav said to a national daily.
Yadav also said that his relationship with Misa will not get affected because of the fight in the elections.
“My relationship with Misa will always be that of a chacha (uncle) and bhatihji (niece). I will fight the election on issues such as development, law and order, infrastructure and not on a superfluous agenda. I have no hard feelings for anybody. There is no question of acrimony,” Yadav said.
Meanwhile BJP has pitted Rajiv Pratap Rudy to take on former Chief Minister and Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi from Saran constituency.
