The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that his heart bleeds after seeing the protest in the parliament over the Telengana issue.
“My heart bleeds to see what is happening in the House. This is bad for democracy,” said the PM on Wednesday.
The parliament has been paralyzed since the beginning of the winter session as the anti-Telengana supporters stall both houses of parliament against government’s decision of bifurcating Andhra Pradesh to crate state of Telangana.
Reacting strongly to Manmohan Singh’s comment, Seemandhra leader and union minister KS Rao said, “My heart bleeds too. You can’t divide the state because of a few seats or political advantage.”
Union Minister Pallam Raju criticised PM’s statement and said his comment is ‘unfair’.
Prime Minister today met senior BJP leaders over the lunch and seeks support to break the ongoing deadlock in the parliament. Government is planning to table the Telengana Bill on Thursday in the Lok Sabha and asked BJP to back the bill. BJP has yet to announce its decision.
