Noted journalist and author MJ Akbar has joined the BJP on Saturday ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
Party President Rajnath Singh has welcomed Akbar into the party and he might be given responsibility of being party’s spokesperson.
MJ Akbar had earlier fought and won an election on a Congress ticket in 1980s.
Praising Narendra Modi, Akbar said India needed his leadership at this turbulent time.
“Rajneeti is two words, one is Raj and the other is Neeti. I think I am more interested in Neeti,” MJ Akbar said, adding, “It is not that there are just problems. Now, I see a solution too, I find a solution in Narendra Modi.”
