The controversial Telengana Bill was tabled in the Andhra Pradesh assembly on Monday following uproar and protests from Seemandhara leaders in the house. The leaders from Telengana and Seemandhra clashed inside the house and stalled the assembly for any further proceedings.
President Pranab Mukherjee has given time till January 23rd to pass the Bill the Andhra Pradesh assembly.
The draft Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill-2013 proposes division in the state of Andhra Pradesh and creation of separate statehood of Telengana.
Earlier in the day, the leaders from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema moved adjournment motions which were rejected by the speaker. The YSR Congress and TDP seek a resolution against the bifurcation which was also rejected by the speaker.
