Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has pulled out from contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
After expressing dissent for not able to contest from Chandigarh constituency, Tiwari had marginally agreed to contest polls from Ludhiana seat but yesterday he finally pulled out.
The Congress has announced Ravneet Bittu’s name from Ludhiana.
Sources are saying that Tewari is miffed with the party as it has chosen former Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal instead of giving him the ticket for Chandigarh seat.
After senior leaders and ministers like P Chidambaram, Jayanthi Natarajan hads refused to contest the elections, this fresh news will certainly deliver another embarrassment for the ruling party.
