A day before Congress’s crucial AICC meet, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said Congress should declare the name of its Vice President Rahul Gandhi as their prime ministerial candidate.
Scindia’s remarks comes just hours before the Congress Working Committee meet where the party would be discussing whether or not they will announce Rahul’s name as their PM candidate tomorrow.
“It’s not about what the party needs. The whole country needs him. It needs someone young and dynamic committed leadership. I see all these values in Rahul Gandhi. I certainly hope Rahul Gandhi is declared the PM candidate,” Scindia said.
“I am a soldier of the party and I work at the party’s bidding. Sonia, Rahul and the Prime Minister decided that I should be the power minister. I will do what my party asks me to do,” he added.
