Currently the second-largest coalition partner of UPA 2, the DMK today announced that they will support any resolution in the parliament which opposes the FDI in the multi-brand retail sector.
DMK has 18 MPs and is UPA’s biggest ally after Mamata Banerjee led TMC left the ruling coalition.
To give Prime Minister Dr. Manomhan Singh a nightmare, R Baalu of the DMK told media that although DMK supports government on the issue of reforms however DMK don’t support any anti-people decision. He also said that while reforms may be important, they don’t win elections.
DMK also participated in last month’s nationwide strike against FDI in retail.
