Devendra Fadnavis has been sworn-in as the 27th Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in a grand ceremony at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium, today evening. Apart from Mr Fadnavis, nine other cabinet ministers were also sworn-in. To get place in the cabinet are BJP’s senior leaders Eknath Khadse, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Pankaja Munde, Vishnu Sawra, Chandrakant Patil and Prakash Mehta. Also, Dilip Kamble and Vidya Thakur have been
appointed as the Ministers of State.
To witness this grand ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and all other BJP leaders from centre had marked their presence. More than 30,000 invitees had turned up for the swearing-in ceremony. Bollywood celebrities, Chief Ministers of all the BJP ruled states and eminent business tycoons were present for the ceremony.
Shiv Sena which had declared about their absence for this ceremony attended it. Last minute phone call requests made them turn up. Sources told Spectralhues that senior BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Amit Shah called up Uddhav Thackeray and requested him to attend the ceremony. Hence, Shiv Sena leaders, including party chief Uddhav Thackeray appeared for the ceremony. Uddhav Thackeray appeared a bit late and by the time he turned up, Fadnavis had taken oath.
