The Congress in Uttar Pradesh has sent six-member fact finding team to Saharanpur to inspect the reasons of the recent riots that broke there. This effort comes in as the curfew in Saharanpur has been relaxed due to the occasion of Eid today. So-far the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested 66 people in connection with the riots.
These riots in Saharanpur had broken last Saturday in the aftermath of disagreement between the groups of two communities. As the groups failed to reach an inference, their disagreement widened and took a violent turn. Firings and Stone Pelting incidents were reported from Saharanpur as situation had been out of control. The Police Forces were rushed to the place and barricades were put up. The police tried their best to restore the peace and harmony in the area.
India.com reported that gunshots were fired on a community and people with swords ran after the people. Shops too were burnt.
The Situation was brought under control by yesterday with District Magistrate confirming about it. The police issued a curfew there to avoid any further instances of violence. 3 people lost their lives while 17 others, including five policemen were left injured.
The S.P (Samajwadi Party) blamed the RSS while the BJP has blamed the S.P for their failure to prevent riots. The blame game between the political parties has begun as usual.
Rakesh Gupta, Senior Vice President of JD(U), speaking exclusively with Spectralhues said,” This is a planned conspiracy of the U.P government. They haven’t learnt lessons from the Muzaffarnagar riots.
The news of riots in Saharanpur comes nearly a month after the Muzaffarnagar riots. Not just that, a Times of India report (Riot rocks UP again, 3 dead in Saharanpur) informs that in the post-election period, 12 riots have been reported from Uttar Pradesh.
It really seems that the AkhileshYadav government is failing to maintain the law and order situation in U.P. Constant crimes happening in U.P too suggest the same.
