BJP president Amit Shah has reportedly called Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today and requested him to reconsider the seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls.
Amit Shah also urged Uddhav Thackeray not to break the 25-year-old alliance in Maharashtra.
The alliance is on verge of breaking over seat-sharing as BJP demands at least 135 seats out of total 288-seats, but Sena refused to give more than 119 seats.
After BJP’s internal meeting, senior leader RP Rudy told ANI, “Maharashtra was discussed in detail yesterday, we want to continue the alliance with Shiv Sena,” adding, “We have a strong bond with Shiv Sena and there needs to be a mutual understanding”.
Maharashtra is going on polls from October 15.
