Aam Aadmi Party leader Yogendra Yadav said the party was surprised and sad over MLA Vindo Kumar Binny’s outburst against the party and its Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Yadav has said that the party will take disciplinary action against Binny.
Accusing Binny of conspiring with the BJP to malign AAP, Yogendra Yadav said, “Binny has raised questions on his own government. It appeared Binny was speaking out of a letter written by someone else. The script he read was of BJP, had he read the Congress script, we would have said that.”
“Binny was a part of all the meetings on ticket distribution. Why did he not raise it then when this was happening? Not raising the voice earlier raises questions on Mr Binny’s intent,” Yadav said.
Yadav has said that the party will mull action against Binny. “The party has no option but to look at Binny’s act of indiscipline. The party’s political affairs committee will meet and take disciplinary action against Binny, there’s no place for indiscipline within the party,” Yadav added.
In the press conference earlier in the day, AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny hit out at the party saying AAP has failed to deliver its promises.
“There is a difference in what AAP promised before elections and what it is delivering. We had promised people that we will provide 700 litre clean and free water to every household but when writing the manifesto, AAP added the clause that if the water consumption is more than 700 litre, it will be charged for the whole amount,” Binny said.
“AAP is cheating the people of Delhi. AAP took prompt decisions on water and power to benefit a few. The party promised to waive electricity bills. That promise wasn’t kept either. If Kejriwal fails to deliver on his promises, he must immediately resign,” he added.
“My work and name has been used by AAP to give people a dream. I am not greedy for post or position. I joined AAP when it was nothing. I gave AAP an MLA. I was an Independent MLA and had joined AAP on its philosophy. I am not an opportunist whereas people who are joining the party now after it has done well in Delhi Assembly elections are opportunist,” Binny said.
