10 years jail for Former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala

A  Special CBI court sentenced ten years rigorous imprisonment for former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay for corruption on Tuesday.

The severe punishment comes after it was proved that the former CM of Haryana, Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay, were involved in teachers’ recruitment scam which illegally appointed over 3,000 junior basic trained teachers 12 years ago.

Along with Chautalas, Chautala’s political advisor, MLA Sher Singh Badshami, was sentenced 10 years. Two IAS officers Vidya Dhar and Sanjiv Kumar were also given 10 years term. Total 55 people were convicted and sent to jails.
