The execution of 42-year-old Surinder Koli, convicted of serial rapes and killing young children in Nithari, was put on hold last night by Supreme Court.
The order was issued at 1.30 am last night by Justice HL Dattu on Koli’s lawyer Indira Jaising’s plea to review of his death sentence. The order said to hold his execution by at least a week.
Koli who is currently in Meerut jail, was found guilty of molesting, rapes and murders between 2005 and 2006. The Supreme Court observed Koli “appears to be the serial killer” and said “no mercy can be shown to him.”
