Renowned cartoonist RK Laxman has been in critical condition since yesterday. He was admitted to the ICU of Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital in Mumbai. The 94-year-old was suffering from urinary infection.
After the dialysis his health deteriorated and he was shifted to the intensive care unit. Accordign to the hospital, he has been put on a ventilator support after a multi-organ failure.
“Laxman is critically ill, but stable. He was admitted for urinary infection along with a with multi-organ failure. We have put him on a ventilator,” hospital sources told PTI.
“Laxman has had various health issues. In the past, he was suffering from renal inefficiency and lung infection,” hospital sources said.
Popular for his iconic character of “The Common Man”, Mr Laxman a phenomena through his bold cartoons, targeting politicians for over five decades.
