Now Rhea Pillai files complaint against Leander Paes

After Leander Paes lodged complaint against his former partner Rhea Pillai over their daughter’s guardianship, Rhea Pillai on Thursday night lodged petition against the Indian tennis star for barring her from entering his apartment.

Pillai lodged a complaint with Bandra police station. She alleged that after she returned from Rani Mukherjee’s niece’s birthday party Leander wouldn’t let her in.

Earlier Paes has filed petition in a family court seeking custody of their six-year-old daughter Aiyana.

Reacting to Pillai’s allegations, Paes’ counsel, Zulfikar Memon said, “Pillai was trying to gain sympathy, create controversy and stop his parents from staying in the house.”

“This is Leander’s home. Leander has instructed his staff to prepare the guest room where his parents normally stay for their arrival and Rhia had placed some of her artifacts there. This police complaint seems like a bid on Rhea’s part to create controversy and gain sympathy and stop Leander’s parents from staying. Please be clear, this is NOT the room that Rhea’s been using as a bedroom,” Memon said.

Rhea Pillai’s friends have come out in support of her.

“When she returned around 7.30pm, Paes wouldn’t let her in. She did not have an extra set of house keys. Paes had posted five goons outside the flat who abused and threatened her constantly. Pillai then called the police emergency helpline ‘103’ and a woman constable was sent. As soon as Paes saw the constable, he let Pillai in. But the goons continued to abuse her. Fortunately, Aiyana was still at the birthday bash and was not witness to the goings-on,” the friend said.

The friend added that when Pillai entered the flat, she found all her possessions were packed up.

Meanwhile, Rhea lashed out at Leander in an interview. She accused Leander of torturing and cheating her.

“Leander locked me out. I’d gone with my child for a birthday party. Leader and his mother were running out of the building as I was entering. They even put my clothes in boxes and threw them out. Actually, five people had forcibly broken into my house once before too,” Rhea said.

She also claimed that Leander was cheating on her since day one.
