The deceased teenage girl’s family has moved Kolkata High Court on Monday seeking a CBI probe into the gangraped and allegedly murdered of 16-year-old girl last week.
In the writ petition the family accused the West Bengal government of negligence and said that they have no faith in the state police investigation. The family also sought financial compensation from the state government.
Earlier the victim’s father had written to West Bengal Governor MK Narayanan stating the situation and complaint against police and hospital authorities for not providing support.
Six men including Ratan Sil and Minta Sil have raped the 16-year-old girl on October 25. After the girl’s family lodged FIR she was again raped the next day, followed by threats to withdraw the case. After she refused to withdraw the case, she was allegedly set blaze by the accused On December 23. The girl succumbed to her burn injuries on December 31, 2013 in Kolkata.
