Justice Swatanter Kumar skips office as the intern moves SC

Justice Swatanter Kumar has skipped the office at National Green Tribunal on Monday as the law intern moved Supreme Court challenging its December 5 verdict in which SC said it will not entertain complaints against retired judges.

A bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam has agreed to hear her petition on Wednesday.

The law intern has accused then sitting Supreme Court judge, Justice Swatanter Kumar of sexually harassing her in May 2011 and she left her internship midway feeling upset and disturbed.

Justice Kumarhas already rejected the allegations saying it is “incredulous and false” and “some kind of conspiracy”.

The law intern seeks setting up a gender committee at Supreme Court on Vishaka guideline to probe into sexual harassment complaints against sitting and retired judges.
