The Delhi Police has prepared a list of eight more people for questioning, who had either spoken to Sunanda Pushkar or Shashi Tharoor, on January 16 and 17, which might elucidate the mystery of her death. This list includes three politicians, three journalists and two businessmen, sources said.
Journalist Rahul Kanwal is one of the eight people to be questioned on Thursday. Kanwal tweeted to confirm this on Wednesday evening. Rahul Kanwal will be interrogated about the conversation he had with Sunanda Pushkar before her death.
A SIT member said, two other female journalists too, will be called shortly.
Meanwhile, police are trying to verify reports, whether Sunanda had stepped out of her hotel on January 16, a day before she was found dead, and allegedly gone to a government-allotted bungalow in central Delhi.
A tweet by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday afternoon made this claim. Police officials are likely to question the person who might have accompanied Sunanda when she left the hotel, reported The Times Of India. The police also said that they have a CCTV footage related to this connection.
Regarding questioning Tharoor again, the Delhi Police chief B S Bassi told reporters that it depended on SIT’s mood. “I will not be able to tell you that right now. Whenever the SIT finds it appropriate they will do it. The SIT is analyzing the answers. If they are not satisfied with the information so far, he may be called again,” he said.
