An Indian Air Force pilot was killed on Tuesday as a MIG-21 fighter aircraft crashed at Mirhama in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in Kashmir.
The incident took place in the morning around 45 kms from Srinagar when the Raghu Bansi was on a routine exercise on MIG-21.
The cause of the crash is yet to be announced. A team of IAF officials have rushed to the spot.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, “My condolences to the family, friends & colleagues of the pilot killed in the MIG crash today. May his soul rest in peace.”
