Jodhpur police may issue a lookout notice against self-claimed godman Asaram Bapu who is dodging summons in sexual assault case.
A special team of Jodhpur police is camped outside Asaram’s Indore ashram and yet to meet the ‘godman’. Police will hand-over the summons to the ashram manager in case Asaram continues avoiding police.
Asaram is booked under Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act and he has to appear before Jodhpur police by August 30 for questioning on his alleged role on sexually assaulting a minor.
Meanwhile on Monday women group protested outside the Ashram over the allegations.
Asaram, however, denied the allegations.
“I feel very sad when this girl is termed as a rape victim. She is like my daughter, grand-daughter or niece. She is not a victim… far from that. The victim is the one who is violated but this girl is pure in my view,” Asaram said.
Asaram expressed conspiracy theory against Hindu saints.
“Baseless allegations are levelled against me because I preach Indian culture during my discourses. In last four-and-a-half years, I was accused of practising black magic and tantrik practices but none of them stood legal scrutiny,” he said.
