12-year-old boy commits suicide after hearing Jiah Khan’s death

Shocked and depressed by Bollywood actress Jiah Khan’s recent death, a 12-year-old boy in Jaipur has reportedly committed suicide.

Babu, a class V student from Gurunanak Basti in Sriganganagar district committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house on Wednesday after hearing the news of Jiah Khan’s death.

The actress also committed suicide in the same fashion in her Mumbai  house on Monday.

According to police, Babu watched Jiah Khan’s suicide news on Tuesday morning on television and became depressed.

“He became depressed after watching the news of Jiah Khan’s death. Later he brought some DVDs of Jiah Khan’s movies and started watching them. In the afternoon, the boy confined himself to a room. He did not even lock the room and hanged from the ceiling fan,” TOI quoted a police officer Ramesh Chand on Wednesday.

“He was found hanging from the ceiling and his television and DVD player were on. We have also recovered some DVDs of the film in which Jiah Khan had acted,” the officer said.

“He was continuously watching the television news on the actor’s death and even asked his mother why she committed suicide . His mother convinced him not to take it seriously. Later, when the mother was cooking lunch, the boy committed suicide,” Ramesh Chand added.
