The erstwhile Janata Parivar now seems to be heading for a reconciliation, keeping aside all their glitches and looking forward for unity. After several false claims and rumours that had been surfacing, the parties constituting the Parivar are on course for a merge.
Official sources on the matter stated that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shall be sworn in as the elected president of the Janata Dal (United) at it’s national executive meeting in Capital, on April 10. He is said to begin with the reconciliation process immediately, by ‘setting in motion the formalities’, with the Ajit Singh-headed Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), the Samajwadi Janata Party (SMP) led by Kamal Morarka, and the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM), that is led by Babulal Marandi. The current President Sharad Yadav shall make way for Kumar to take up the reigns of the coalition.
The JD(U) is addition, is also looking forward that the symbol for this unified entity would be the ‘Banyan Tree’, that is Morarka’s current insignia. “This was the symbol of the old Socialist Party headed by Ram Manohar Lohia, and we hope we get this,” stated a senior leader on the matter.
