The former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf’s nomination papers for upcoming general election in the country have been accepted by northern Pakistan parliamentary constituency, Chitral, on Sunday.
Earlier in the day Karachi parliamentary constituency had rejected his papers. His nomination papers in Kasur were also rejected last week by the returning officer. Musharraf had filed papers to contest election from four parliamentary constituencies in Karachi, Islamabad, Chitral and Kasur.
Musharraf is currently out on bail for 15 days by a local court. He is charged with conspiracy in the killing of Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti.
The Pakistan Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and two other judges will review a petition tomorrow filed by former Rawalpindi High Court Bar Association president Taufiq Asif against Pervez Musharraf.
