Government Nominates Sachin Tendulkar’s Name For Rajya Sabha

The union government has proposed iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s name for the Rajya Sabha. If Sachin accept the offer then he will be the first prominent sportsman in the country to be elected for Rajya Sabha seat.

Along with Sachin Tendulkar, Government has also recommended Bollywood actress Rekha’s name for the Rajya Sabha seat.

Earlier today Tendulkar met Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence. Although the official  reason  given as a courtesy call but it is not a co-incidence that today itself govt recommend his name after this meeting.  

People across party line have welcome this move, although government is waiting for Tendulkar’s official consent.  

So, finally Sachin is going to join politics!
