Gaya Road Rage: Rocky Yadav’s third accomplice surrenders, remanded custody

Teni Yadav, the friend of the main accused in the Gaya road rage case, has surrendered early today morning at a local court in Gaya. He was accompanying Rocky Yadav in the vehicle when the incident happened and had then fled the scene when Rocky shot a bullet which killed Aditya Sachdev. Teni Yadav is the fourth person arrested in relation to this case and has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.

According to the data submitted to the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sanjay Kumar Jha on Saturday, Rocky Yadav’s Italian Beratta is the one from which the bullet that killed 19-year-old Aditya was fired. The accused has confessed to his crime, according to the police sources.

Meanwhile Rocky’s mother Manorama Devi has been on the run following the discovery of liqour bottles from her house and has been booked under the Bihar Excise (Amendment) Act, 2016. She had moved an anticipatory bail petition requesting protection from arrest which was deferred by a local Bihar court. The court has ordered the appearance of the accused in the court by May 20th. She has been found to be involved in Child Labour cases.

Aditya Sachdev’s cousin, Ravisha Khaturia told Spectralhues, “The case has become fast-paced lately, especially after the interference of the Zonal IG. Though there have been minor lapses in the past, the police has become proactive now and I really appreciate that. The nature of the case and the way it is moving is unprecedented. The way the accomplice has surrendered today (Teni Yadav), sometimes, it sounds too good to be true. Therefore I’d request the police to inspect all angles of this incident, including the possibility of a planned murder.”

She said that her peaceful protests across the country have given out a message of intolerance against injustice and that severe punishments should be meted out to the guilty and his absconding MLC mother. Khaturia went on to add that these were her personal views and may not correlate with all members of the rest of her family.

Peaceful marches have been coming out across the country especially in Bihar and Delhi, paired up with various NGOs. On Sunday, CM Nitish Kumar had visited Aditya’s home, where he met the parents. Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan demanded a CBI inquiry after visiting the Sachdev’s parents on Saturday.
