The Jagur XF competes directly with luxury sedans like BMW 5, Mercedes Benz E-Class, and Audi A6. In the wake of updated versions of the competing sedans, Jaguar XF also has been updated to protect and expand its market.
The revised XF was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in the early months of 2011. The car was released later in several parts of the world. Since Tata Motors own the Jaguar brand, it has been long expected to be launched in India also sometime soon. The news now is tht the updated XF will hit the Indian market by the third week of November 2011.
The updated XF sports a fascia very similar to that of Jaguar XJ. The updated XF includes new, slimmer headlight, LED lighting strips, and a new-look bumper. The interior of the car has also been revamped; the steering wheel and seats are just a few of the re-designed components.
The new XF sports a Start-Stop system which is said to result in a mileage of 21 kmpl; the Carbon-dioxide emissions are said to be 14g/km.
The price of the new XF is expected to be quite close to that of the older version.
