After successfully securing majority of seats in some states, Bharatiya Janata Party is now aiming for the 2017 Assembly elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
In an attempt to invite maximum support for the same, the party has been reportedly reaching out to Dalits in the state, promoting among them the works done for the society by the Narendra Modi-led central government, in the last two years.
A huge chunk of the population comprises of Dalits, hence major parties of the state have been vigorously working to build up a rapport with the community, which undoubtedly, has in the last few decades, been firm and loyal to Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Due to this the BJP is stated to hold a meeting that shall comprise of ‘prabudh’ (intellectual) and ‘prabhavshali’ (influential) Dalits, in Lucknow, on Saturday, June 4.
The meeting, convened by the BJP State SC Morcha, shall be graced by the party president, Amit Shah, himself.
Furthermore, the party has also begun with a programme to identify many more willing people who would reach out to the community with the party’s strong messages.
