The latest buzz in the tech world suggest that senior Microsoft executive Satya Nadella could replace Steve Ballmer as Microsoft CEO.
Hyderabad born Nadella emerges as the front runner to become Microsoft’s next CEO. Also the reports are coming that Microsoft board is considering replacing Bill Gates as chairman.
“And, at this moment, those who have watched the process think that insider Satya Nadella, who is currently leading its enterprise effort, is the likeliest internal candidate to prevail. That’s due to a number of reasons, including his familiarity with the company, where he has spent much of his career, as well as a strong technical background and a varied work history at Microsoft,” Kara Swisher wrote on Re/code.
“The two other insiders — strategy head Tony Bates and Nokia leader and former Microsoft exec Stephen Elop — seem further behind,” the report added.
Nadella is with Microsoft for over 23 years and at present is the president of server & tools business at Microsoft.
