World’s leading software company Microsoft has launched its online store in China in association with country’s largest ecommerce website Tmall.com.
Microsoft.tmall.com offers computer accessories along with its other products.
“Microsoft sees great potential in China’s e-commerce market. Through our joint efforts with Tmall.com, customers have a trusted and secure shopping experience of Microsoft and other complementary products such as Surface, Office, Windows PCs, Windows Phones and accessories,” said, Kevin Eagan, vice-president of e-commerce for Microsoft Retail Stores.
“Unlike many companies who treat China as a market where their products will be launched sometime after the introduction, we are taking more of a ‘China-first’ approach,” he added.
“The future of e-commerce will come from China. The future of the successful multinationals will take more of an approach that Microsoft is taking, which is to put their best people, build their best products and to launch their best products first in China,” Eagan further said.
China’s e-commerce market is increasing rapidly. Analysts are predicting that by 2014 China will overtake the US in terms of online spending. Chinese consumers expected to spend $265 billion in 2013 for purchasing online.
