Bharti Airtel launches India’s first 4G services on TD-LTE technology in India today at Kolkata, with offering of high speed wireless broadband services. The 4G service was inaugurated by the Union Telecom and IT Minister Kapil Sibal at Kolkata.
Airtel eventually becomes the first operator in India to offer 4G services. In association with Chinese company ZTE, Airtel launched BWA network in Kolkata and plan to expand service in Maharashtra, Punjab and Karnataka very soon.
The 4G service allows high speed internet services that include high definition video streaming and instant photo & video downloads and uploads.
Airtel is offering a 4G tariff plan starting at Rs 999 a month for 6GB of data.
